Beaded heart

Supplies needed:

Thin steel wire

Beads

Side cutter pliers

Round nose pliers

Sewing thread

What to do:

1 Using the side cutters, cut a piece of wire approximately 11 in long.

2 Fold the wire down the middle to make the pointy end of the heart.

3 Shape the rounded arches of the heart.

4 Thread beads over one of the arches and make sure to push them all the way to the point.

5 Using the round nose pliers, shape a loop when one side is finished.

6 Thread beads on the other side and finish by threading the end through the loop and fastening it.

7 Hang the heart by threading the thread through the loop.

Star

Supplies needed:

White card stock

Metallic silver glaze pen

Scissors or craft knife

Sewing thread

Sewing needle

Paper for pattern

Pencil

Hand punch (optional)

What to do:

1 Make a pattern using the star on page 92.

2 Using the pencil, trace the star lightly onto the card stock, as many times as you want.

3 Cut out the shapes using a small pair of scissors or a craft knife.

4 Write text using a metallic silver glaze pen (optional). Allow it to dry completely before continuing.

5 Thread the sewing needle with approximately 5 in of thread and poke it through the upper point of the star, or use a hand punch to make a small hole for the thread. If you like, thread a bead on the double thread. Tie the ends together and hang the star.
